Antique hand-painted Satsuma button buckle.Japanese in origin, dating to the Meiji Era (ca. 1867-1912), late 19th Century.Features purple & white wisteria flowers, green leaves & gold gild details on a cream-colored Satsuma porcelain background. Delicate crackle glaze.Elaborately hand-painted enamel design. Trimmed with intricate gilded fan-like shapes along navy blue outer rim.Housed in fine silver mounting with “FS” mark. Round, circular, button shape. 1.75in diameter.VERY GOOD CONDITION CONSIDERING IT’S AT LEAST 113 YEARS OLD. Light wear to gold gild on rim. Some tarnish on the silver side. NO chips, cracks, bends, dents, loosening, or separation.I acquired it from an estate sale in the exact condition shown. I HAVE NOT CLEANED IT.
